KYBELLA®
Kybella® is a non-surgical injectable treatment that targets and reduces submental fullness, commonly known as a double chin. By destroying fat cells and preventing their return, Kybella® helps achieve a more defined and contoured jawline, enhancing your overall facial profile and boosting confidence.
About Kybella
-
Kybella® is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment offered by our Medspa that targets and reduces submental fullness, commonly known as a double chin. This injectable treatment contains deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
-
When administered by our practitioners, Kybella® works by selectively destroying fat cells in the treated area. The injection is carefully applied to the targeted fat beneath the chin, causing the destruction of fat cells without affecting the surrounding tissues. Over time, the body naturally eliminates these destroyed fat cells, resulting in a more contoured and defined jawline.
-
During a treatment Kybella® is injected into the area using a fine needle. This process only takes approximately 30-45 minutes, and the pain is minimal. If requested we will use ice to decrease discomfort.
Depending on the target area you may require multiple injections and multiple sessions to get the best results.
Downtime is minimal after a Kybella® treatment. Patients may experience bruising, swelling, or numbness near the injection site, but this should subside after about 1-4 weeks.
FAQs
-
The number of vials of Kybella® used per session and the number of sessions required varies based on individual factors and desired results. Typically, multiple sessions are needed, usually spaced about one month apart. During your consultation, our expert provider will assess your specific needs and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to achieve your goals.
-
Kybella® injections are generally well-tolerated by most individuals. While discomfort levels can vary, many clients report only mild to moderate sensations during the procedure. To ensure your comfort, ice may be applied before the injections. If you have concerns about pain or discomfort, our practitioners will work closely with you to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
-
One of the advantages of Kybella® is that it typically involves minimal downtime. While you may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising in the treated area, these effects are temporary and generally resolve within 1-2 weeks. Most clients can resume their normal daily activities immediately after the treatment.
-
Kybella® provides long-lasting results. Once the fat cells are eliminated, they cannot return. However, it's important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent new fat from accumulating in the treated area. With proper care, the results of Kybella® can be permanent.
-
Before your Kybella® appointment, it's essential to inform your medical provider about any medications, supplements, or medical conditions you have. Our practitioners will provide you with specific instructions, but generally it's recommended to avoid blood-thinning medications and alcohol before the treatment to minimize the risk of bruising. Additionally, it's important to have realistic expectations and discuss your desired outcome during your consultation.
