THE VANITY BAR PRP
Platelet Rich Plasma
At The Vanity Bar we offer the latest treatments and new technology. Platelets Rich Plasma is a treatment that stimulates new cell growth and promotes healing. This treatment can also help give you a more youthful appearance, and smooth out lines or wrinkles.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP stimulates your body to grow new cells and promotes healing when injected into the skin. This procedure is growing in popularity. Our PRP procedure uses a person’s own blood cells to create a mixture to help stimulate natural healing and cell growth.
When PRP is injected into areas of your skin this helps allow new collagen to grow, and regenerate tissue and hair. Another benefit of PRP is that the procedure can help smooth and tighten your skin. PRP is also used to promote a healthier scalp, and thicker, fuller hair.
What Can PRP Help With?
PRP creates a smooth and even skin tone and can help with dark eye circles, puffiness, sagging around the mouth or jaw, cheeks, eyes, and treats fine lines or wrinkles. PRP treatment can also help thinning hair and promote new hair growth.
How can PRP boost your Skinpen® Microneedling results?
SkinPen is a microneedling device that is meant to treat sun damage, age and brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, uneven skin tone and large pores by creating micro-injuries in the dermis, which takes advantage of the skin’s natural healing process. The skin naturally produces new collagen and elastin in the treatment areas, leading to a fresher skin appearance. SkinPen is safe for all skin types and requires very minimal down time. Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, is your own body’s super serum, aka liquid gold! Our team draws your blood and spins it at high speeds to separate the PRP from the white and red blood cells. When PRP is placed back into the skin by microneedling or injection, it activates growth factors which can promote faster healing time, stimulate skin renewal, and can maximize your results overall.
How Can PRP Help Restore Hair and Promote Growth?
Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP is a substance created from your own blood. When injected into the scalp, PRP can repair damaged hair follicles by increasing blood flow to the tissue. To schedule your consultation and learn more about the benefits of PRP please contact The Vanity Bar.
How Does the PRP Procedure Work?
If you have decided to move forward with the PRP procedure in our office, the first appointment begins with a blood sample. This sample is then placed in a machine to separate the components and create the liquid mixture. This mixture is injected or microneedled into the area of concern or used as a serum post procedure.
The recovery after a PRP treatment is minimal. Patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, or soreness around the injection site. This should subside after a few days. We do recommend patients relax and refrain from exercising at least 48-72 hours after their treatment. Any over the counter aspirin or ibuprofen should not be taken a week before your treatment. This can cause bruising and may interfere with the treatment.
When Will I See Results?
PRP treatment helps to improve skin texture and tone, and softens lines. PRP tightens your skin and gives you that beautiful glow. Patients can see results typically 3-4 weeks after their treatment. We typically recommend a few treatments in order for patients to achieve their desired results. During our detailed consultation process our team will discuss the procedure and provide recommendations depending on your goals and areas of concern.
